Will an animal's behaviours change if they are kept in captivity? 

Animals tend to mark their territory by pacing more when they are in captivity. They usually pace because they are very distressed, and they do not feel safe. Their environments are extremely different to the wild, and they do not always allow animals to run far distances.  When animals over pace, they are showing that they are highly stressed. Some behaviours that animals show such as plucking out feathers, over scratching or pacing can mean that the animals aren't coping very well in this type of environment.
