The negatives of community gardens in urban areas - time and effort

Does building a community garden take a lot of time and effort?

Starting a community garden from scratch is a very big job that takes a lot of time, energy and effort. It is important that people work together in a community and share the job, but this doesn't always happen. Some people aren't as interested in gardening as others or don't want to do all the hard work. Growing a food garden also means people have to wait to see the success of their planting, so they need to be patient. To make sure that a community garden is successful and food is grown, it means people have to be commited to this job. They will have to give up their time daily to ensure the plants are looked after.
