The negatives of community gardens in urban areas - expense

Are community gardens expensive to run?

Urban areas often have high unemployment rates and families get low-incomes, so building a community garden can be difficult. They are expensive to set up and run. People will have to buy the land, and they will need to buy tools and seeds. Equipment and supplies can be surprisingly expensive. The idea of urban gardening can be exciting, but those gardeners may never make much money. When people grow fruit and vegetables in a community garden, they rely massively on the community buying the fresh food. Unfortunately, they don't always buy it beacuse they don't know about it or they buy from supermarkets.
